A memory by

Annie and Eli Pill

Beyond her American accent – which suited her upbringing and her easy, graceful manner – she had a big heart, not only within her but also “in her hands.” As the French saying goes:
«avoir le cœur sur la main» – someone whose heart is in their hand, always ready to help, to give, and to offer unconditional kindness.

I personally felt a unique connection with her because we both loved art: Gail created and sewed beautiful quilted pieces, and I have spent my whole life practicing goldsmithing as a hobby.

For Annie, my wife, the news of Gail’s passing was especially difficult. She still speaks of Gail often and always with warmth and admiration. With love and sorrow
